Wild Minds Weekly: Two takeaways from our first Q&A
Hello beautiful people,
Before we jump in, if you want a life rooted in nature, community, and purpose, we're giving you the opportunity to make the shift. More details down below. But first, some important lessons from our Q&A last week.
---
You might think the first thing you need to build a life of independence is money, or land, or knowledge, or some other thing you don't have right now. Those things ARE important. But there's one thing you need before any of those.
Lesson 1: Your vision is crucial.
One of the biggest mistakes most people make early on in their journey is not having a clear vision.
Without a clear vision, you could spend many years, a lot of effort, and a shed load of cash, climbing the wrong mountain.
One of my biggest takeaways from our Wild Minds Premium Q&A last week was how crucial it is to have a clear vision.
If you don't, it will cost you.
It'll cost you in time, effort, and emotional damage. It will cost you in indecision and misaligned team members.
You need a clear vision before you start, before you build a community.
You need to be able to say "We're doing this. Do you want to join?", rather than "Join and then we'll figure out what we're going to do".
A clear vision simplifies the process of making decisions because it eliminates a lot of the indecision that comes with a collective decision making process.
The only question you'll need to answer is "Is this in alignment with the vision?". Usually the answer is crystal clear.
That was only one of the many questions we talked about.
Lesson 2: The best way to access land.
The truth is, land is not scarce. It only looks like it is.
If you go on Rightmove and search for land, you'll not only struggle to find anything suitable, you'll pay a much higher price than you need to.
The truth is, land changes hands all the time. Opportunities are abundant. You just have to know where to look.
If you know where you want to be, the best thing you can do is integrate with the local community, the local farmers.
They don't want their land going to some corporation, they don't want their land developed into solar farms, they want it to continue to be used for farming. Don't underestimate the value of connecting with people. The reason I'm here writing you this, is because I overcame my crippling fear of talking to strangers, and messaged Billy. So don't be shy, you'll be surprised what opportunities come your way.
In the theme of accessing land, Chay from Crops Not Shops will be joining us at todays Wild Minds Premium Q&A, offering an exclusive opportunity to live off-grid in community, with food and facilities provided in exchange for 16 hours a week of labour.
If you have experience in any of the following, or simply feel called to this lifestyle, this is for you:
- Growing food and living off-grid
- Home-educating children
- Practical land work and natural building
- Events management, admin, tech support, or social media
This is the first of many opportunities that you'll get access to in Wild Minds Premium so if you're serious about living closer to nature and building a life of independence, then join us.
We've opened up 20 more early-bird spaces, click here to secure yours now.
Like I said, don't be shy. Connect with people and you never know what opportunities may come your way.
To your freedom and independence,
Rob
