Wild Minds Weekly: How could the Pandemic Agreement impact you?
Hello friends,
Have you been called a conspiracy theorist because you're worried about a totalitarian world government?
I thought so.
So let me tell you about the WHO Pandemic Agreement that was adopted by the World Health Assembly on May 20th, 2025, while everyone's been distracted by the vaccine salesman and billionaire divorce. (Yes I'm a little late to the party, we've been busy on One Tree Farm)
The Pandemic Agreement is a legally binding framework for global pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.
Sounds harmless right? Who wouldn't want to prevent another "pandemic"?
Now to be fair to them they do say that this doesn't give the WHO power to dictate national laws… even if the rest of the agreement seems to mandate the implementation of various surveillance systems.
Here's what 124 WHO member states, including Australia and the UK, voted for:
- Establishing a global surveillance network for pathogens with 'pandemic potential' (Article 4)
- Requiring traceability measures and mandatory sharing of pathogen data (Article 12)
- Creating a centralised WHO-controlled system for monitoring biological materials (Article 12)
- Giving WHO authority to coordinate global distribution of medical products (Article 13)
- Mandating "coordinated multisectoral surveillance" systems - very vague and easily exploited (Article 4)
- Requiring countries to implement "One Health" approaches that integrate human, animal, and environmental health monitoring (Article 5)
So what could that mean for you?
- 'Detection at the community level' - remember contact tracing?
- Interference with commercial agricultural practices - your local farmer's market could be shut down if WHO deems certain products a "biosecurity risk"
- Mandatory data sharing means your health information flows directly to global databases, regardless of your country's privacy laws
- Medical product distribution controlled by WHO could mean shortages of treatments that don't align with their preferred protocols
Now maybe my tinfoil hat is on a little too tight, and these are just my interpretations, but I'm concerned.
The question isn't whether you trust the WHO with good intentions (for the record, I don't). The question is whether you trust any global institution with this level of coordinated power over your daily life.
This sounds like some pretty dystopian stuff. But it's not fiction - it's policy.
No country can sign this agreement yet - that's subject to the completion of Article 12 (Pathogen Access and Benefit-Sharing System). But make no mistake, the time to act is now.
That's why we're doing everything we can to build food security in small-scale, off-grid communities, and we want to help you do the same.
