My wake-up call came during COVID.
During which we were given a glimpse of a very dark future:

A world where, under a centralised digital system,

 For the first time, we saw how easily access to the system could be restricted.  

And something clicked in me:
If the system can control the essentials, the system controls your life.

That realisation pushed us toward what later became the first pillar:
Practical Independence — securing the fundamentals of life outside the control of the mainstream system.

At first, we believed the only way to stay free was to escape the system entirely.
So we built an off-grid community farm with one intention:
to be able to disconnect the moment the agenda became unavoidable.

Two years into that pursuit, we learned a hard truth:
living completely outside the system is almost impossible —
and even if you can do it, it doesn’t create the kind of life you want anyway.

And really what we really wanted wasn’t to "live outside the system”.
But just freedom: the ability to live our lives according to our values,
raise our families safely, and still benefit from the tools and advantages of the modern world.

That was the birth of the second pillar:
Independence Within the System — keeping access to the benefits of modern life but without being controlled by the system.

And then, came the final realisation…

Even with land, water security, off-grid energy, food systems, a thriving community
and navigating the system intelligently…
our independence was still fragile.

No project can survive the agenda alone.
A worldwide agenda needs a worldwide solution.

It became obvious that long-term freedom requires:
thousands of projects,
millions of awake people,
decentralised land and food systems,
and networks strong enough to withstand whatever comes.

That’s the third pillar:
Collective Independence — a decentralised movement of awake people supporting each other.

These three pillars came from lived experience — everything we got right, wrong, broke, built, feared, and ultimately understood along our journey.
